Chiara Aliotti is an Italian photographer born in Rome in 1987.
She graduated in Communication and obtained a Master’s degree in Photography at the European Institute of Design(IED), studying between Rome and Madrid. Her passion for photography has taken her around the world. It was in Australia, while attending the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney, that she decided to specialise in architectural and interior photography.
“Initially, my research focused on natural and urban landscape photography. I was fascinated by the harmonious relationships between forms and the volumes inherent in places of interest, and by the possibility of interpreting them through the photographic medium. Over time, my exploration of geometry led me towards interior photography, driven by the desire to portray space from both an architectural and an intimate perspective, envisioning the home as a ‘place where the self is projected’.
Interior photography involves a multitude of factors, including technical expertise, aesthetic sensitivity and the ability to tell stories through images. Their combination makes the creative process particularly stimulating. I believe that the ability to capture the beauty inherent in spaces in an essential and poetic way plays a crucial role, as does the ability to interpret lines, light and colours through a personal reading of a place, offering a fresh perspective. My approach to places is always curious and attentive, seeking connections between reality and symbolic space, between the visible and the invisible.”
Chiara currently divides her time between Rome and Barcelona, collaborating with interior designers, architects, real estate agencies and private clients.
